Hand drawn and designed acrylic keychain, featuring a bilateral gynandromorphic beetle colored to represent the lesbian flag.
1.5 inch acrylic charm
U-shaped hook clasp
Subtle design makes it so anyone who is not out yet can still feel connected to their community and pride without jeopardizing their safety.
Fun Fact! Bilateral gynandromorphism is when a genetic mutation makes it so the beetle is split right down the middle, one side containing male genetics while the other side contains female. In this instance, the male side is the side with the larger pincer is male, this is because males will fight over a mate for breeding, so they have to be able to defend themselves, making the large pincers very helpful. Without the need to fight, the female beetles tend to have pincers on the smaller side.
